Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry – Services and Instruments
LC‑MS (liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry) is a widely used metabolomics platform for separating, identifying, and quantifying a broad spectrum of metabolites, including non‑volatile, thermally unstable, and low‑abundance compounds. Liquid chromatography separates metabolites based on their chemical properties, followed by mass spectrometry, which provides highly sensitive and specific detection through mass‑to‑charge measurements and fragmentation patterns.
LC‑MS enables:
- Comprehensive profiling of complex metabolite classes, including lipids, secondary metabolites, and polar compounds
- Detection of low‑abundance metabolites with high sensitivity
- Robust biomarker discovery across diverse biological systems
- Pathway‑level interpretation of metabolic processes
