Metabolomics Australia is a National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Scheme (NCRIS) capability supported through Bioplatforms Australia (BPA). BPA coordinates a consortium of national technology platforms – Genomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, Synthetic Biology and Bioinformatics – to provide integrated systems biology capabilities to the Australian research community, spanning academia, government, and industry.

The Victorian node of Metabolomics Australia at the Bio21 Institute, University of Melbourne, serves as the national platform’s central hub, offering advanced analytical and bioinformatics capabilities. Equipped with state‑of‑the‑art instrumentation and expert support, the facility provides broad coverage of primary and secondary metabolites and delivers comprehensive quantitative and qualitative profiling for biomedical, agri‑food, environmental, and industrial applications.
