Professional Development Recognition
Melbourne Graduate Researcher Certificate
The Melbourne Graduate Researcher Certificate (GR Certificate) has been designed to recognise the professional development activities undertaken by graduate researchers across their candidature, highlighting the value of learning beyond the thesis—fostering knowledge, personal effectiveness, organisational understanding, and engagement with society.
Throughout the program, learners earn a digital credential for each program successfully completed and upon reaching the required program points, are awarded the final Melbourne Graduate Researcher Certificate.
Digital credentials and the final certificate can both be used to share achievements with future employers across all sectors to demonstrate breadth and depth of capacity in the workplace.
Emerging Research Leaders Certificate
Research leadership is a capacity that is developed from very early in an academic career. These capacities help ensure valuable habits and ways of being that are established will underpin growth through informal and formal leadership roles.
The Emerging Research Leaders Certificate (EL Certificate) pilot program aims to recognise the time and energy spent on developing personal and interpersonal effectiveness for researcher leadership throughout one's career. Specifically, the certificate will:
- Support early career researchers to navigate career milestones with increasing leadership capacities
- Provide evidence of developing capacities in leadership for grant and job applications
