How long does COVID-19 immunity last, and why does it matter? What did we learn from the HIV pandemic that can help us now? How do we know we will get a vaccine for COVID-19, if we never got one for HIV? These are just some of the questions that Dr Fauci, Professor Kapur and Professor Lewin tackle.

They also discuss the wider impacts of the pandemic. How do we balance the human and economic health of a nation? Will there be a positive legacy from the pandemic?

The panel discussion is the first instalment of a new series, Conversations on COVID-19: The global view. In this series, experts from around the world will join the University of Melbourne to explore how the pandemic is shaping our world.
