These scholarships allow Masters and PhD students in one institution to visit academics in the other – we will provide funds for flights and accommodation for a month of collaboration.
Visiting the University of Melbourne
Up to 15 scholarships are allocated in three years for students to visit the University of Melbourne. The scholarship will provide funds to cover the expenses for one-month accommodation supported by UoM and airfares supported by PKU.
Eligibility
All master and PhD students currently enrolled in the School of Mathematical Sciences at PKU who will remain enrolled at PKU during their visit to UoM, with priority given to master students.
Selection criteria
Selection will be based on academic merit of applicants and availability of suitable supervisors at UoM. Preference will be given to those applicants whose visits will likely enhance collaboration between UoM and PKU in mathematical sciences through joint research and pursuit of further studies at the PhD level.
How to apply
Eligible students are welcome to submit their applications to Professor Zhifei Zhang with the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Up-to-date transcripts for both undergraduate and master studies
- A cover letter (in English, up to one page) stating the following: (i) a research plan, (ii) the intended visiting dates, (iii) the nominated supervisor at UoM, and (iv) whether the nominated supervisor at UoM has agreed to host you.
Practical advice
- Applicants are required to submit their applications at least three months before the start of their intended visit.
- Applicants are required to contact their nominated supervisors at UoM and also discuss the intended visit with their supervisors at PKU before submitting their applications.

Visiting Peking University

All PhD students currently enrolled in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Melbourne who will remain enrolled at the University of Melbourne during their visit to PKU.
