The Indonesia Democracy Hallmark Research Initiative collaborative research grants are offered for joint research projects with external Indonesian collaborators.

About the grants

Projects should deal with the key research themes:

  • Politics
  • Rights
  • Islam and democracy.

Applications from STEM, legal and humanities areas are encouraged.

Grants are designed to support fieldwork and research by University academic staff working in Indonesia, as well as bringing external research collaborators to Australia to present findings at the conclusion of the project.

Funds can also be used for:

  • Travel costs
  • Research assistance
  • Administrative assistance
  • Carer costs to enable research activities involving overseas travel
  • Other expenses necessary to enable applicants to achieve research outcomes.
