Plant Growth Facilities

The University glasshouse facilities and growth rooms provide different environments to grow plants for research, teaching and archiving.
The Parkville and Burnley campuses are home to a number of glasshouses and growth rooms. These offer adjustable lighting, humidity and temperature combinations. Both ground plots and hardstand growing areas are available.
The Herbarium is an archival plant collection. The Herbarium exchanges specimens and information with other institutions across the world. Based at Parkville, it was established in 1926. The collection now totals 100 000 specimens and growing.
