Partnering with your organisation to ensure sustainable infrastructure for future generations

Collaborate with us to create innovative solutions

Sustainability must be central to the design of any new infrastructure.

We work with communities, businesses and governments to co-design practical solutions, and meet the challenges in transitioning people, places and structures into productive, efficient and functional built environments.

Whether you’re a solo operator, have a business, or work for government, we want to collaborate with you.

We work with all parties across the planning, delivery and management of our towns and cities. By combining your insights and experience with our expertise in research and technology, together we can create bold solutions addressing some of society’s biggest challenges.

Helping farmers survive drought

Less than 70 per cent of distributed irrigation water reaches farms – lost in transit through leakage, seepage, evaporation and measurement errors. As part of a long-term partnership with us, Rubicon Water has developed a much-needed system for automating irrigation, enabling up to 90 per cent of distributed water reach farms. The collaboration has also helped transform Rubicon from start-up to a publicly listed company, helping increase their impact globally.

  • Impact: Farms worldwide are surviving drought, increasing crop yields, and saving billions of litres of water each year
  • Innovation: Total Channel Control® – a system for automating irrigation
  • Partner: Rubicon Water

Enabling better, data driven decisions for developing infrastructure

Digital twin technology – creating a digital representation of a physical space, including past, present and future scenarios – is being used around the world to address the complex challenges of changing urban environments. In partnership with the Victorian government, the University of Melbourne has developed a digital twin for Australia’s largest urban renewal project, Fishermans Bend. A live test-bed for location intelligence technologies – such as augmented and virtual reality, together we’re helping modernise urban planning in Australia.

Impact: Better ability to prepare for future city planning and extend capabilities in the critical areas of location intelligence technologies

Innovation: An advanced geo-analytics and visualisation platform

Partners: Victorian Government Department of Environment Land Water and Planning, City of Melbourne, City of Port Philip, CSIRO’s Data 61, Melbourne Water, South East Water and VicRoads, Frontier SI, AAM Group, Aerometrex

Type of partnership: Proof-of-concept project with state government

Industry 4.0
The partnership between ICC, Land Use Victoria and Melbourne City Council led by the University of Melbourne has provided valuable insights for projects such as the Fishermans Bend digital twin proof of concept. The University researchers have provided guidance and support in developing the concepts of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the surveying profession.
