What is One Health?

The One Health concept recognises that water, soil, plant, animal and human health are interdependent. The University’s vision is to conduct high-quality, high-impact research across the One Health spectrum. This PhD Program is a key part of our One Health strategy. You can engage with our guiding principles to create a healthy and sustainable world.

Our PhD Program offers you the opportunity to:

Program

The One Health PhD Program offers graduate researchers:

  • skills development workshops
  • seminars with industry, academic, government and philanthropic leaders
  • a robust network of mentors among peers and early career researchers.

Workshops

We offer workshops in conjunction with industry training partners. You will develop and enhance research skills to supplement your PhD studies. And you will learn about other relevant training opportunities around the University.

Seminars

We offer seminars to explore the challenges facing One Health researchers. Speakers include senior faculty academics, prominent visiting researches and industry guests.

Mentoring

The program's mentoring component will launch in 2020. It will connect graduate researchers with early career researchers across the One Health disciplines. Program participants will learn more details closer to the launch.

Participate

To take part in the One Health PhD Program, you must be enrolled as a PhD student in one of the following:

Your PhD topic must be within the One Health disciplines of water, soil, plant, animal or human health.

When you join the program, you will remain enrolled in your current department.

You can join the PhD Program at any time during your candidature. You will remain part of the program until you complete your doctoral studies.
