How to apply

Discover how you can join the Melbourne India Postgraduate Academy (MIPA) as a joint PhD candidate.

To apply to become a joint PhD candidate with MIPA, follow these steps.

  1. Select one of the available projects listed on our current opportunities page and contact the supervisors from both universities to discuss the opportunity.

Alternatively, if you want to propose your own PhD project, please head to the “Propose your own PhD project” section at the bottom of the page.

  2. Once you have obtained support for the project from both supervisors, you may apply for a PhD program at your home university first, and then at the partner university. Please read the guidelines below before applying. The guidelines outline the eligibility criteria and selection process for the relevant program. Please note that the MIPA joint PhD program can also be referred to as the “Dual Doctoral Program (DDP)” or the “Joint Degree Program (JDP)”.
