Regulation of growth and morphogenesis

Fungi are eukaryotic microbes whose activities impact on heath, agriculture and biotechnology. They are also exceptionally good model organisms for studying fundamental biological processes. A critical aspect of fungal biology central to their activities is the generation and establishment of distinct morphological states. Using a combination of gene-centric, genomic and metabolic approaches, we have probed the molecular genetic basis of morphogenesis and how it relates to growth and differentiation.
