Seminar: Airway smooth muscle: a target for difficult to manage airways diseases
The Therapeutic Technologies Research Initiative (TTRI) invites you to attend a seminar by Dr Reynold Panettieri, Inaugural Director of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Title: Airway smooth muscle: a target for difficult to manage airways diseases
Date and Time: Thursday 1st December 12 – 1 pm, followed by light lunch
Venue: Rand Theatre, Level 8 Medical Building 181, University of Melbourne
Bio: Reynold A. Panettieri, Jr., MD, is the inaugural director of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Dr Panettieri is a pulmonologist, immunologist, and translational researcher. His interests are in the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate airway smooth muscle cell growth and the immunobiology of airway smooth muscle. Dr Panettieri's lab also focuses on cytosolic signaling pathways that mediate gene expression and alter myocyte function. In parallel with his basic science interests, Dr Panettieri currently directs the comprehensive clinical program for the care of patients with asthma and is actively involved in clinical in vestigations focused on the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
