‘The future of disability research at the University of Melbourne and beyond’

The Disability Research Initiative (DRI) was one of the University of Melbourne’s first Research@Melbourne Hallmark Initiatives. The DRI’s role is to coordinate and support interdisciplinary projects with the involvement of community partners and those with lived experience of disability.

Staff from across the University of Melbourne and our key partners are invited to the Disability Research Initiative’s research forum on 27 April 2017. The forum will bring together disability researchers from across the University of Melbourne, along with our external partners and stakeholders, to reflect on the DRI’s successes and discuss the future of disability research at the University and beyond.

Highlights will include presentations from our affiliated and seed-funded researchers across faculties, roundtable conversations and interactive panel discussions on:

  • the role of research in promoting participation, inclusion and the rights of persons with disabilities;
  • identifying research issues and priorities for the future;
  • stimulating and supporting disability research at the University of Melbourne.

We are grateful for the support of our event partners, the Melbourne Neuroscience Institute, Melbourne Social Equity Institute, Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute, and Melbourne Networked Society Institute.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
