The Platform for Research Software Solutions develops, supports and delivers software systems for research.
Our team of software engineers specialises in research software, including:
- Big data analytics
- Rich, interactive collaboration environments
- Web applications and databases
- Mobile applications used for collecting targeted data.
We help graduate students and researchers learn and explore new software engineering technologies. We also develop, help support and deliver software systems for the broader University research community.
We are part of the University’s Melbourne eResearch Group (MeG). MeG comprise over 30 full time software engineers working on a wide range of major projects for clients including US Intelligence, US Defence, all Australian Defence Forces, the Australian Research Council, the National Health and Medical Research Council and the European Union.
Our work also includes flagship projects for the University such as the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network, the Australasian Diabetes Data Network, the Environmental Determinants of Islet Autoimmunity study, the European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumours, the Collaborative Assessment for Trustworthy Science (repliCATS) and SWARM.
- A team of software engineers
- Cloud infrastructure support
- High performance computing infrastructure support
PRESS/MeG provide a range of software development and support services, from smaller-scale proof-of-concept systems to multi-million dollar projects funded by a variety of agencies.
