Cancer Nursing Research

Developing new and translating existing knowledge into practice to enhance the experience and outcomes of people affected by cancer, and the efficiency of health service delivery.

The cancer nursing research program at the University of Melbourne exists to develop new and translate existing knowledge into practice to enhance the experience and outcomes of people affected by cancer, and the efficiency of health service delivery. This will be achieved through undertaking nurse led, health services research and clinically-focused projects that are practice-relevant, and inclusive of consumers in all of our research endeavours.

Key focuses of the research program include the development of patient centred models of care, supportive care interventions for people living with rare and less common cancers, a focus on the needs of older adults with cancer and advancement of specialist cancer nurses.
