Notification of outcomes
The Melbourne Research Fellowships (Career Interruptions) Program enables eligible researchers to enhance or re-establish their academic careers where they have been severely interrupted, delayed or otherwise constrained by chronic illness, child bearing, child rearing or other caring duties.
Successful applicants will receive $60,000 (oncosts inclusive) plus $15,000 for travel or research support, including small equipment purchases.
To be eligible for this scheme, potential candidates must have completed a PhD degree in their field three to ten years prior to application.
Academic staff already employed by UoM, but not in a continuing position, are eligible to apply.

Check Faculty/School processes
Contact your Faculty/School research office to ensure you have met any Faculty/School specific requirements.
Complete the application
Complete the application form and attach all necessary supporting documentation.
HoD to sign off on application
Provide the Head of Department/Equivalent with your completed application for review and signing.
Save file for submission
Combine the application form and supporting material into one pdf document.
Supply referees with documentation
Supply referees with program Guidelines, your application and Referee's Report Form. Ask referees to email their reports to firstname.lastname@example.org before the due date.
Submit final application
Submit the application in PDF form via Themis by the due date.
