Schemes for International Collaboration

Critical Dates

Overview

The University welcomes international partnerships through grant schemes targeted to increase international collaboration, including new opportunities through the National Innovation and Science Agenda. Opportunities exist across the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Department of Education and Training, and the Department of Industry, Innovation, and Science, among others. The most up to date information can be found on the sponsor website. In some cases, the sponsor limits the number of applications per organization or requires funding co-contribution. In these cases, the internal review process below must be followed.

How to apply

  1. Review annotations on Research Professional

As each scheme is different, details will be posted on the specific Research Professional scheme entry. Contact the International Grants team early to provide additional advice on the specific scheme.

  2. Review the guidelines on the sponsor website

Accessible through the Research Professional scheme entry.

  3. Complete internal forms in consultation with your Partners and Faculty

If applications are limited, an Expression of Interest form may be required. Keep in mind that an internal review committee will assess applications based on the sponsor's review criteria. Submit to RIC by the internal deadline.

  4. Successful internal applicants notified

Applicants successful in the internal review process will be notified. If co-contribution is required or strongly recommended by the sponsor, parameters will be discussed at this time.

  5. Draft application reviewed

Applications that are approved for co-contribution must be reviewed by RIC 10 days before the sponsor deadline.

  6. Submit the application by the sponsor’s deadline

Guidelines and deadlines are listed on the sponsor scheme webpage.
