The Peptide Symposium – Winter 2017

First of two symposia in 2017 organised by the Peptide Users Group will take place on the 21st of July, 1.00pm - 5.30pm at the Melbourne Brain Centre, Foyer and Lecture Theatre

Prof Daniel Hoyer (Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of Melbourne) -Plenary Speaker - “Orexin, sleep, addiction and much more: some considerations on translational research”.
A/Prof Briony Forbes (School of Medicine, Flinders University) -  “The road to new insulin analogues: Insight into receptor binding and activation using novel recombinant and synthetic insulin and IGF probes”
Dr Kade Roberts (Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University) - “Targeting Gram-negative ‘Superbugs’ with Next-Generation Polymyxin Antibiotics”
Dr Charlotte Conn (School of Science, RMIT University) – “Streamlined design of lipid nanoparticles for delivery of protein and peptide-based therapeutics"

Early Career Investigator Awards

Peptide Users Group Early Career Investigators are invited to submit an abstract on their research related to the synthesis or application of synthetic peptides, peptide modification, isolation, biology, biochemistry or other application or study relating to peptides.

Major award – For this symposia a travel award will be made to the best presentation by an ECR (this includes students and Post doctoral researchers) to attend a conference of their choosing, value up to $1,000.
